Foreigner
Visible EP
Naarm’s Willis Anne aka FOREIGNER steps to the Livity Sound plate with a deftly insistent grasp of suspenseful synths and dub-frisked grooves.
Founder of the LAN club night and label, with credits for Berceuse Heroique under their belt, FOREIGNER marks a new avenue of work for the hardware-facing artist. Their sound is patently compatible with the rest of the Livity stable on its mutable merits, trading in a properly loose style that begs to go in the blend with other suitably spacious and suggestive structures.
‘Last Peoples’ sets its off on a sci-fi tip with room-scanning synths leads pitch-bent into spindly matrix of recoiling, scattershot 2-step, setting up a playground to show off their hardware agility between the spin reverb wetted needlepoint step of Visible’, and steadier techno-step ballast of a ‘Désintégration’ surely recalling vintage Peverelist, and recycling the same elements in a more lustrous, optimistic sign off ‘Land One’.
